About The Symposium

The Research Community (CoRe) Frontier Materials and Industrial Application (FMIA) Institute of Research Management & Innovation (IRMI) Universiti Teknologi MARA (UiTM) is proudly organized the Symposium on Frontier Materials and Industrial Applications (SFMIA2019). SFMIA2019 will be held on the 29th August 2019 (Thursday) at the Grand BlueWave Hotel, Shah Alam Selangor Malaysia. SFMIA is an annual event that is aimed to assemble researchers in Malaysia and all over the world for the dissemination of current research on key areas of materials science, engineering and industrial technology. The conference theme is "Harnessing the Contribution of Materials and Industrial Technologies for Achieving the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs)". 

It is our pleasure to announce that SFMIA2019 will be conducted in conjunction with the "Seminar on Wastewater Wealth" and "Hari Entiti Kecemerlangan (EK) FMIA UiTM". Seminar on Wastewater Wealth is dedicated to all researchers who would like to present and share all knowledge based on the active and excellence research in the area of water, wastewater, sewerage, solid waste and other related areas especially outcome or potential research collaborations with Indah Water Konsortium (IWK). On top of that, Hari EK FMIA will highlight all research activities and performance of all 34 EK research groups and top researchers in CoRe FMIA. 

SFMIA2019 is co-organized by the Institute of Quality & Knowledge Advancement (InQKA) UiTM and Institut Pengajian Siswazah (IPSis) UiTM. All accepted papers, with a minimum of 5 pages, will be submitted to a Scopus indexed Journal for publication in the regular issue.

The main purpose of SFMIA2019 is to build an international platform that allows interested experts to share and discuss their latest researches, ideas, and survey reports in the theoretical and practical areas regarding all aspects of advanced materials, industrial technology and other related areas.

TERMS AND CONDITIONS FOR PUBLICATION:

  1. Paper should be strictly formatted as per Template given above. In the paper title, there should not be word ‘survey, review, case study, comparative study, novel approach, study’. These words may cause for rejection of the paper.
  2. MINIMUM number of pages is 5. The paper should be in the area of Science, Engineering & Technology. All paper should be result oriented and plagiarism (similarity indexed) should be less than 20%. It should be calculated by using either Turnitin or iThenticate.
  3. Plagiarism Check: Good quality plagiarism software/ tool (Turnitin / iThenticate) will be used to check similarity that would not be more than 20% including reference section. In the case of exclusion of references, it should be less than 10%.
  4. Quality Check: All submitted paper should be cutting edge, result oriented and under the scope of the journal. Review Papers/Survey Papers/Case Study papers will not consider for publication.
  5. Review: Those papers having less than 20% plagiarism including reference section and within the scope of the journal will be submitted for the review process. One paper will be reviewed by a minimum of two reviewers from different locations and average marking of the comments for the respective paper will be subject for the acceptance/ rejection.
  6. Review Criteria: Reviewers should know about the criteria of the review process so that reviews will mark the comments, why he/she is accepting/rejecting the paper. For example- methodology, new innovation, etc.
  7. Authors Profile. All authors should have min 100 world profile along with their photo.  
  8. After review process and paper acceptance: Once acceptance is confirmed and the manuscript is assigned for submission to a specific journal, authors will be provided a journal-specific format guideline. Authors will be required to reformat their manuscripts according to the journal guideline before submission to the journal.All accepted papers should be formatted as per Journal Template. In the formatted paper, journal type/volume no/ issue no will be in the right top corner of the paper. In the case of failure, the papers will be declined from the database of journal and publishing house. All authors will submit ecopyright to the Journal publisher. (The format and all necessary documents will be provided by the Secretariat)
  9. After paper submission to the Chief editor and publisher. The SFMIA2019 secretariat will not be held responsible should the manuscript is not published in Scopus & WoS journals due to issues pertaining to the quality and format of manuscript. Common quality issues may include the lack of the following aspects: (1) original theoretical contributions, (2) English language proficiency, (3) critical literature review, (4) rigor in methodological & data analysis and (5) research implications. Any manuscript that is not qualified to be published in Scopus or Web of Science indexed journals will be considered to be published in the conference proceedings.
